This is very early in the works but I want to do my research now before things really start to progress. I am in the healthcare field and have been interviewing with a system in the Charlotte area. The location would be near the airport and I was wondering what are areas to look at for living.
Background on my family.
We are coming from Cleveland, Oh. My wife and I are in our early to mid 30's and we have two children. one 3.5 and the other 1.5. We currently have a 2700 sqft house with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths valued at just under 300k. We would want something similar or a little smaller that has good schools and not too bad of a commute and around the same price. I am ok with up to 45 min of a commute, just hopefully not stuck in traffic the whole time. We do have a large dog and we all love to be outside. So a decent yard or being close to parks would be nice.
Any help of neighborhoods or areas to look at for houses would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you. I will start looking into these areas. We are open to anywhere that has younger families and is kid friendly. Also open to the commute if I am going opposite of traffic.
Agreed with CLT4. Belmont would be on my list, Davidson (if you could make the budget work), anywhere in south Charlotte between South Blvd and Independence Blvd.
Would there be a lot of traffic on the commute from these areas?
There's a lot of traffic everywhere in Charlotte. Belmont would be the best choice in regard to traffic. Davidson is out of your price range and would be a tough commute. Concord and Harrisburg would too. Some areas of south Charlotte could offer a reasonable commute, as would parts of Huntersville.
When you say near the airport, do you mean off Billy Graham Parkway and Tyvola, or in Southwest Charlotte near Steele Creek and Tryon? That can really impact the commute.
Looking at the location it is right by the airport. Would the Fort Mill area be a bad commute?
What side of the airport? Fort Mill isnt bad if the job is in Steele Creek. If on the north side of Billy Graham by the airport entrance, then it could be bad
