We like to bowl, we love science, animals, mostly I would like to see interesting outdoor scenery. Even if it is within an hour from Charlotte, I am an amateur photographer as well so I love to photograph. We like movies as well. Need a mini rest and visiting so I would like for it to be relaxing but interesting. Any tips please let us know. Thanks~! God Bless~!

For scenic views and photo ops drive out of Charlotte on I85 south and visit Crowders Mountain State Park (exit 13). There are two entry points with rangers at each who can tell you about the trails. I prefer the one where the rock climbers do their rappelling - you can get a great view looking back to Charlotte. This drive would be about 45 minutes from downtown Charlotte. You could go about 15 minutes further south on I85 and visit Kings Mountain National Park. This was a battleground during the American Revolution and you can walk it leisurely while reading all the historic markers.
In downtown Charlotte don't miss the Discovery Place Science Museum. It also has an Omnimax Theater and is usually showing at least two different features. I would definitely check that out if I were you
There are several bowling alleys around town, depending on what part of town you are in, nice movie theaters too. Hope you have a great trip!
