Does anone know where (in the South Charlotte/Union Cty area) I could get my 8 year old lacrosse lessons, or where there's a non-competitive league in which novices can learn the game? Thanks!

There are a few summer camps available. I believe providence day school offers cool kids which is lacrosse instruction in the morning and swimming in the afternoon. Stickwithus.org (mecklenburg youth lacrosse) is a competitive league but most kids at age 8 are relatively new to the game and they welcome beginners. The coaching is fantastic and most games are played in the Ballantyne area. They also have summer camp info available on their website. There is also the charlotte youth lacrosse league and starting kids in learning lacrosse (skill), but I don't know where they are based or anything about them. I hope your child enjoys the game - its alot of fun to watch!!

Thanks! I found a camp at Charlotte Latin that sounds like a great intro to the sport.

Whatever you do, don't let him get a scholarship to Duke and live in Durham and have parties with ethnic strippers. Send him to UNCC, Queens, or some local place.

Hee hee hee. You gave me a good laugh. Being a Duke alum myself, I was glad to hear that those players were innocent. Still don't like the whole stripper thing, but it seems that for college men's sports teams and fraternities, strippers are a pretty regular source of entertainment. Hopefully I will raise my kids in such a way so that sort of entertainment won't appeal to them!
