I am starting my new job tomorrow. I have to be at work at 8am. I live in Brandon Oaks ( Indian Trail) going to Wachovia Securities 6100 Fairview Road (SouthPark). How much time should allow myself for traffic?

Thanks!!

I'd say you need at least an hour. I am not sure where Brandon Oaks is.

Just to be on the safe side, meaning the side that keeps you from being too nervous , leave around 7:00. It most likely won't take more than 35 minutes now that summer is here and there are no school buses on the road, but like I said, you'll feel better if you aren't afraid of being late. But after you do it for a day or two you'll find your right niche - good luck at the new job!

+1, give yourself an hour the first day, then start backing off from there until you arrive when you wish.

But again, I am a stickler for NOT being late (OCD for sure)

EDIT: Nearly forgot, congratulations on the new job!

My first two days have been great! Once again everybody has been very nice and friendly. On average it took me between 30 to 40 minutes. I am sure when school is in it will be worse. I just can't get over how nice people have been to me. Is this something that is genuine? I hope so. It makes my day better.

Glad things are working out!
We are a pretty nice bunch, unless people starting complaining about how this or that was better where they came from.
Again, congrats on the new employ!

Hee Hee. Glad to know things are feeling "right" so far.

You can complain to us . . . it is all in how you say it. (Don't tell us why xx was so much better). We may even join in w/ the complaints.
