Because of You Hair Salon, moved to 4935 Monroe. I take my daughter here 2x a month. I like the owner and her hair philosophy (formerly of Salon Central).

No Grease is my place, as a natural baldy. Pam at the Salon maintains my due. They have a new salon next door (don't know the name, but they will tell you--it's the one on Central and Pecan)

Monroe Road is loaded with black hair salons. Salon Central at 3700 Independence Blvd, has over 40 stylists, barbers and braiders with their own shop. This was the first place I took my daughter to before her stylist moved to Monroe.

Who is the stylist that moved to Monroe? Did she go to a salon? Would love to know.

Thanks!

Imaj - located off Concord Mills Blvd/across from Concord Mills Mall. This salon is owned by Mike Minter's sister (and him, I think). I think they do hair, I also think it is a spa.

I am very picky with hairstylists and took me awhile to find a good one. I like Portia Hanberry or Aprelle at Beauty Brands Salon/Store at the location in South Charlotte. They are a tad expensive but no more expensive than my former stylist in Boston. Just realized this was an old thread. Hopefully the OP has found someone by now.

One of the owners, Dee, of Salon Tribeca is black. She's super stylish which instills a lot of confidence for me. It's in a nice area near Ballantyne, just google for website & address. It's not an all black salon, it's just a good stylish place with stylists of a few different races.
