Oh great........just when I'm about to make my move.
I currently am in the wilds of western PA. Normally when we came down to our house in Fort Mill the progression what about as follows:
WV was about .20 higher than PA
VA was about .20 lower than PA
NC was about the same or maybe a bit lower than PA
SC was about .20 lower than PA
We are currently at 3.39. So theoretically you guys in NC should be about the same if it was "normal". So yeah, you are getting ripped off BIG time!!
And believe me, we don't have a higher cost of living (like NJ) to offset it. In fact, overall where I am the cost of living is less than NC or SC....at least with paying monthly bills. And even though I will be living there full time, until hubby gets his SC driver's license they refuse to count us as residents, so we have to pay the higher property taxes as well. Good thing we are moving there because we really LIKE it and not just for financial reasons!!
goes up and down like a roller coaster here. cant be cost driven, not supply driven bek no major cut off of oil. just a bunch of rich guys figuring out how much the market will allow.
george's friends. the ones he says he is powerless to control.

Emissary, What is the price of Sunoco? It should be lower than the others because most of their refining capacity is at 3 places: Philadelphia, Marcus Hook, PA, & Eagle Point in South Jersey. The worst those refineries got was being dampened by Hannah & Kyle.
Well you could try smaller engined cars or one of your cars maybe.
In Europe where gas is around $9 per gallon people have manual gearboxes mostly (automatic shifts are awful anyway if you're get any pleasure from driving a car), much smaller engines and tend toward public transport for commuting to work if it's possible.Car pooling is common too. Also many more people cycle or walk to stores etc. Children are far more likely to walk to school once they are 10 or so, but of course you have very few sidewalks-ridiculous when everyone is going crazy about gas prices!
I mean my husband and I each have a car. He works in E. Charlotte, I work in W. charlotte so car pooling is out of the question. My children ride the bus to school and I only go to work and back. One trip out on the weekend and that is it. I believe I am doing my part in conserving the best I can. And one of our cars is a manual 4 cyclinder. While the other is a gas guzzler, I cannot get a third car at this time for commuting.
