New Years Day in Charlotte (move, areas, long-term)

OK, I'm early on this, but with the move coming up, I'll forget until the last minute.

As a long-term resident of the Philadelphia area, I'm used to the Mummers Parade on New Years Day. I'm aware that it's a local oddity, but the roots go back to the same areas where many of the early settlers to Charlotte, or their ancestors, originated.

Is some sort of mumming customary in the Charlotte area?
