The Friday Night Fish Fry was a staple growing up in Wisconsin, consisting of Beer-battered fried fish (usually cod or haddock), potatoes/fries, and cole slaw.
Do you know of anything similar in Union County/South Charlotte?
I thought that since we are now in the season of Lent perhaps some churches might be sponsoring this type of thing.
St. Matthew Catholic Church on Rea Rd & Ballantyne Commons has the Knights of Columbus Lenten Fish Friday every Friday during Lent. I believe it is from 5:00-8:30. Cost is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, $5 for kids (4-12) and 3 and under eat free. Located in the Parish Center Family Room.
I'm from the Chicagoland area and I too miss the Friday Fish Fry! It's not as good as back home but it does come through when you're are in a pinch and forgot to prepare for a "meat free" meal!
