I saw on the news the other night that people are turning down temporary part time jobs that pay $14.00 ph. Unfortunately, people feel they are better off with unemployment since it is now so high and the time limits have been extended. So, if someone is looking for a job to hold them for a while, they said they are there.
I live in Columbia where the latest unemployment rate posted (March) was 8.8%, the same month Charlotte's was 11.7%. I was wondering if anyone on here would say you can feel the bite at street level in the Queen City or whether it feels like business as usual.
Anyone wanna know what makes me mad?? Ya wanna know what puts a burr under my saddle? Ya see- we have this ridiculously high unemployment rate. More people collecting benefits now than have in YEARS. Meanwhile farmers are sweating that crops are going to be lost because they dont have people to harvest. Way I see it, pay the unemployed what they make in benes, and put em to work harvesting!! It's about time people get over this "That type of work is below me" mentality! It really pisses me off that people are sucking on the gubment teet, when there is work to be had!
