Memo:
If you live in certain areas of our great country, you can not use the word "Easter".
It must be replaced with the word "Spring". Spring egg hunt, Spring bunny?

Happy Easter, Jesus Saves!
Santa; you better watch out, your next!
I don't live in the US right now. I will later this year though. This holiday is called Easter (ever since I can remember) and even though it is in the season of Spring, it's still the Easter vacation.

Hm. My mind controls the words that come from my mouth... I guess things are different in Ohio.
You poor, poor persecuted Christians. Thank God the teabaggers are here to legislate God back into our country!
So that is why traffic was so light this morning. Wondered why it took me twenty minutes to get from Sam Newell and 74 to Cluck N Cup. I forgot that Sunday is Zombie Jesus Day.

Pshh, I don't bother with any of that Jesus stuff. All hail Flying Spaghetti Monster!!
I seriously doubt those guys (in Native_Son's post) could legislate their way out of a paper bag, even the bag they use to cover up their bottle of Rot Gut Booze.
The etymology of the word "easter" is complex but my understanding is that the word "passover" and "easter" both come from the same root word. There is no such thing as "Easter" referred to in the Bible; it is a more modern construct.
There are also many who contend there are anglo-saxon roots with the name "easter" being very close to the goddess "Eoster."
In the end, the experts can debate it, but I think most folks realize that few Christian holidays don't have some pagan tie-in, as that is exactly what early Christian leaders purposely did to make it easier for pagans to continue with similar customs once they accepted Christian doctrine.
Who cares, really. It means what it means to each individual. I celebrate the equinoxes and solstices b/c I like to recognize the cycle of life as revealed in nature. Doesn't matter to me if anyone else sees life that way. Doesn't matter if they buy into my brand of Christianity, either. I also am happy to celebrate Passover with my Jewish friends, as I honor their beliefs and life path.
It is Spring! Happy Spring, Happy Easter, Happy Pasch!
Celebrate as you see fit and honor everyone else's right to celebrate as they see fit. People who get bent out of shape over words have not figured out that it really doesn't matter what the world thinks . . . it only matters what belief system we have each chosen to live by.
Fly your own flag! Whatever it is!
HAPPY LIFE, folks!!! It's Spring! Enjoy your Easter weekend. I am letting a restaurant do the cooking this year and concentrating on how fortunate I am to have a wonderful family and warm weather ahead!
