What opportunities exist for 22 year old (shy) girl to meet other young single adults in the University Area/North Charlotte? OTHER than bars or clubs? I know some churches have young adult life groups, but I would love a recommendation of some that do not only bible study but also activities for fellowship. Any and all ideas are very much appreciated! Thank you!!
Not specifically in the University area but you may want to try meetup.com There are a lot groups like Charlotte Young Adults (http://www.meetup.com/clt-young-adults/ - broken link) and Go Social Club.
Check out CharlotteONE! It meets every Tuesday night at 7 at First UMC on N. Tryon in Uptown. Lots of young adults and fellowship opportunities.
Go to charlotteone.org for more info.
Thanks -- I appreciate the replies. I'm trying to find somewhere for my daughter to meet new people her age. It's tough for young adults that age to meet people if they aren't into the bar/club scene.
No clue how to delete posts...I'm new. And while Wedding Crashers was a great movie, and I assume he was trying to be funny, I'm sure that is not the answer I was looking for!
my post was deleted yes for an attempt to be funny and not help out just like the above post from wedding crashers (hilarious move). but really if your looking for a place for your daughter to meet ppl and you guys are religious faith based what ever you wanna call it then the above recommendations are probably your best bet.
Just pick up a boy heavy hobby and join it's respective club !! There your odds will be great because of the boy:girl ratio.
So what are boy heavy hobbies ?
Comic book collecting, Dungeons and Dragons, RC cars, salt water tanks, Disc golf, regular golf,
professional wrestling, computer clubs and things to do with bacon.
Seriously, attend a comic book conference. More boys than you can shake a stick at !
Works for boys too, they need to join things like yoga, salsa dancing, Spiritual enlightenment classes, scrapbooking classes.
to offer another bit of advice on the above posting. Sure you will find a lot of boys at a comic convention. You will also find a lot of boys at a local motorcyle group ride. Those are very very different boys though. Same goes for girls and thier activities. ex: Book clubs vs the advanced cardio classes at your local gym.
