I went to get ice cream at Friendly's in Huntersville yesterday, and it looks like it closed down! When did this happen? Does anyone know if they are opening another nearby location?

There is/was a sign across the street on the former Just Fresh restaurant saying they are going to re-open there.

thats good.

Rosedale is perfect example of when sign restrictions cause
restaurants to go under.
Many non street view restautants go under or lack business
Only the restaurants that have street view do well.
The old Friendly's was in a terrible location the back of the restaurant
faced the street, surrounded by box hedges. Unless you
knew restaurant was there ....

Yeah, their signage was terrible! The first time I found them I had to really look. And I only knew it was there because I found it online first. I love Friendly's and am glad we aren't losing ours!

That stinks! I just moved here from Dallas, where there are no Friendly's, and I was looking forward to going to that Friendly's! I grew up in the NorthEast and worked at Friendly's one summer. Very Fond Memories! I just did a search online and it looks like the closest ones are in Lumberton and Myrtle Beach

That scared me for a minute. I don't get up to Huntersville often, but I was so excited when I realized there was a Friendly's in the area! That's where I had my bf take me for Valentine's Day. I have many, many fond childhood memories of that restaurant.

I hope they re-open soon because now I'm craving a Forbidden Chocolate sundae!

It scared me too! I had my bf take me their yesterday for some a birthday ice cream (forbidden chocolate with peanut butter and fudge on top!) and thought they were closed for good. We went to Dairy Queen, but it just wasn't the same. Pretty big birthday downer! I am so excited to hear they are only moving. Hopefully they will be easier to get to now! The parking lot that they were in was terrible.
