From another thread was information on recycling. Scenic City recycling picks up 1 day a week, and the day is different depending on where you live. They also pick up in unincorporated Hamilton County.

$15 per month
$150 per year

They supply the recycle bin and do all the sorting.

Chattanooga Recycling :: Curbside Recycle Pickup Service :: Scenic City Recycling :: Chattanooga, TN :: Recycling for Homes, Apartments and Businesses

This sure beats shlepping the recylables to the recycling center!

This is great. It's amazing how much we can all leard from this forum. I've been here 4 months already and didn't know we could get recyclables picked up at the curb.

Nice post U4icmusic. We recycle too and love it. Our garbage, for a 2 person family, has been reduced from 3/4-1 can per week to 1/4 can or less. It's amazing how much paper, glass, etc... a family produces. I prefer to take mine to Warner Park. It provides a pretty decent job for some folks from Orange Grove and they LOVE what they do. It always brings a smile to my face when I see them. I work downtown so it's convenient for me to take it once or twice a week.

I think there is a recycling center by me in East Brainerd too, but I haven't checked it out yet.

If you live in Shepherd Hills there is free curbside recycling pickup once a week . . . and once a week for brush . . . and twice a week for trash.
