Hi, I just moved here a little over 7 months ago and was wondering if Riverbend is worth going to or not. Are the bands usually any good, is there too much drinking going on, etc. Thanks for your input.

Eh. . . it really depends. I used to go all the time when I lived there, mostly for the side stages (never the main stage). They should have a website (not sure if they still have it. . they did last year) up for the festival that lists the bands and what not. You can google the band names and get a feel for the band to see if its worth your time.

The people on the board need to pick better main stage acts. . .

If you like present day music, you probably won't like Riverbend (unless you like country).
Seems the main acts are usually bands that were popular in the 70's, 80's, or 90's.

I think Riverbend is pretty great. For $35 you can go all week, and while the genres lean a bit toward country there are a lot of stages and types of music throughout the week. Even not considering the music, the fireworks display on the last night was the best I've ever seen.

We went 2 nights last year and loved it. The fireworks were outstanding, bands were great and hey the food! The only big problem is getting in and out traffic wise. If I go again will park way out and ride a bike in as they have a area for bikes. Go and have a great time.
