Most cars would look a lot better and perform better with tires that have sidewall. The whole rubber band tire crap is getting pretty old. If one adds slab sides and itty bitty windows it just does nothing for me.

The fact that it has the C7 Z06 carbon ceramic disc brakes on it and thus actually is the first car that is in production that beat the corvette at being the first to production having some really amazing brakes.

although the Nissan GT-R is faster in a straight line the Camaro Z-28 actually seems like it would be a blast to drive and well now can't wait for the lighter and stiffer chassis of the Corvette Stingray Z06 to have those as well as a supercharger.

I mean who would of thought the 5th Gen Camaro would turn into to a retro-modern muscle car that I actually like that now able to make the Boss 302 Mustang seem slow on the track and Chrysler is in trouble with the new Challenger facelift.

I personally do not like the 5th Gen Camaro.

GM has thrown a TON! of AMAZING tech at it, and the results show, but it's not the kind of car I would buy, just like I didn't buy a GT-R.

I like vehicles (in a sports car), that are light. The Camaro is a 2-ton pig. If they were to trim it down to around 34-3500#, and change the styling a bit, THEN I would love it.

Mechanically? yeah, it's a toure de force.

I used to love F-Body's but find them boring now. Even the new design.

This is alot of bang for the buck though.

Because the 7.0 is lighter and that was more important then the power it gives up. The throttle response of an n/a car is also something they considered.

Well, they only made 500 of them, and guess what they sold them all! Weird.

The car is an absolute beast, the brakes are ridiculous.

It's not meant to be a high volume everyman's Camaro. It will likely fall into the hands of mainly collectors who rarely drive it, and I hope at least some who use it how it's meant to be used, on the track.

Whether people want to believe it or not, there is a market for the Z/28, even at the price, and that is very apparent.
The people who say they wouldn't spend 75K on a car don't have 75K to spend on a car. I'm willing to bet that the people who bought these cars had the 75K and it was no biggie for them to spend that kind of money.

Agreed. However 500 was just this MY's allotment. They will build 2500 next year.

I do not like the new Camaro at all, cartoonish is a good word, and restricting the Z28 to the $75000 crowd is just marketing for the current bodystyle. Perhaps steal some Mustang 2015 publicity as well.

Has been said that the 1LE and ZL1 are there for folks who want street or 1/4 mile track use and now the HPDE folk have the Z. Of course, 1LE was for tracking but the Boss 302 was much better.

Note the R version has the brakes/wheels/tires removed as the brakes are not competition legal.

Just like the GTR. Nice to know cars like this are being built just not my preference.

From what I have read, the 1LE, while still a decent track car, has some serious brake issues after a few real laps. The brakes on the Z/28 really are remarkable.

I guess it would be tacky to lament that the 1LE cost what...$19K or something. And this Camaro is $75K. And it's a Camaro still.

Broke azz MFers dreaming, yeah, that's it, lol.

Yes. As pretty much any street car on track without carbon rotors regardless of size. Especially with stabi systems left on heating things up. Altho overall the 1LE is a GREAT package. The Z28 I found out this week on track IS friggen phenomenonal !!. And that is back to back with Z51 C7s.
