I had some repairs done on my Envoy 2004 XUV Inline 6 engine. After the repairs were complete the mechanic reattached the resonator box. Recently (about 3 months later), I noticed that he had forgotten to reattach the crankcase vent hose.

Will this have caused any damage to the parts that I should be aware of? The picture below shows the tube that was not reattached.

No damage. Just re-attach it.

You need to find a better mechanic! This can allow dirt/dust/whatever to get sucked into the engine, I wouldn't put off the next oil change.

Needless to say, neither the guy who didn't re-connect the hose nor the various "quicky-lube" outfits should be considered for the oil change...

Afaik, that hose just sends gases back to the intake system, so its to help with clean emissions, but its ahead of the air filter, so it shouldn't be an issue. Just reattach it. Of course, if its behind teh air filter, I'd be a bit peeved.

it's downstream of the filter, actually. the piece being held in that pic is a the resonator. the fsits in a 'box' that connects to the opening on the resonator you can see. the far end attaches to the TB.
