Has any one had any experience through the company "Direct Buy"? Sounds too good to be true. If you have, what is the membership rate? Are you paying an arm and a leg just to be a 'member?'

There's a location in Hoffman Estates...

Thanks for the advise!

It's a national franchise so location is not relevent. I believe that membership requires a one time $5000 investment and an annual maintenance fee. In theory, one would need to spend at least $20,000 just to break even.

Why don't you google " direct buy" and see what pops. Lots of mixed reviews.

They have about half a dozen "member showrooms" between NW Indiana and southern WI. It is not a true scam, in that they do not give you "nothing for something" but it is not the magic they make it out to be. They have very limited number of suppliers, with long lead times and hard to compare prices. They have lots of catalogs and little actual stuff to touch. Their prices are not "60% off" what sane people pay for the stuff that they sell, but may very well be 60% MSRP...

The membership fees (rapidly discounted and made to auto-bill forever...) pay for the overhead of the FRANCHISE STYLE marketing on TV all the time. Shipping is not cheap and you have to pay tax too. There are cheaper ways to buy all the stuff they sell, but those involved going to real showrooms where you can actually touch the stuff instead of just catalogs..
