Hi,

I have a dog and I wonder how do you take your dog out for "business" when it's freezing outside in the winter? I am from California so I never have to worry about that.

Thank you!

Yes sorry I wasn't clear. I wasn't worried about myself...it's my dog.

Thanks.

Dogs can take low temps better than people and you hopefully wont be out for long. The only issuse might be for a really small dog but they too should be fine(after all alley cats survive our winter just fine).

highly depends on the dog. some breeds will do better than others in such weather. a short haired breed/dog like a greyhound should probably wear a coat. some short haired breeds like labs will do okay in colder temps. it's usually recommended that all dogs, regardless of breed, wear booties if you're going to be walking on rock salt, unless you can avoid it on walks or can use varieties especially formulated to be pet friendly

My dog absolutely loves the snow, the blizzard was the best. So many people walking their dogs up and down LSD. Some with booties, some without.

Ahhh that makes more sense! Depends on the breed of your dog. We have two greyhounds and their skin is super thin and they have hardly any fat to keep them warm so we have coats for them when it drops below 20-30 degrees. So I guess it just depends on what kind of dog you have? Although in the dead of winter it can hit -20 below with the wind chill and I don't advise anyone to not put a coat on their dog when it's that cold!
