I am trying to get myself a budget set of how much I will need to get basics in my house when I move next month.

Most places seem to come with the kitchen fitted so will be looking for bed, sofa and tv.

I have done a search online but no idea what stores are good or not.

Can you please help with some web sites for home furniture and electronics that are well priced.

What kind of furniture and electronics are you looking for? Price range for a sofa for example?

To start with I will need the following:

Bed and good mattress
Sofa
Dining Table
TV
Cable (what are good services)
WIFI (maybe a good deal along with cable)
Desktop computer

These are the kind of things I'm thinking about to start with. Probably have a budget for these of $4-5k

For TV - order from ABT, after figuring out what you want from Consumer's reports
For computer - refurbished online. You can get bargains for desktops if you know what you want.

Why a desktop versus a laptop anyway? For the beds, I'd recommend Back to Bed. When I did it, they had free delivery too. The Internet and TV will depend on the building you're in, especially when you're renting. Small buildings are usually going to have whatever they're going to give you. My high rise gives me a few options of internet and TV (cable, satellite).

Abt is fine, or if you don't care about going to big box stores, then there's always best buy even if you can get some of the TVs online for a little cheaper.

Beds - Mattress firm which was Back to Beds or American Mattress are all over the area.
TV's - ABT or Best Buy
Comcast for cable is usually inescapable
Computers best buy has them too. I was there yesterday. They have just about everything but furniture.
Sofa, and other furniture there are a variety of stores at various price points such as Toms Price (expensive), Macy's,
The Dump, Art Van, Walter Smythe, Lazy Boy, Harlem Furniture, Ashley Furniture, Ikea, etc. It depends on what you want and how much you want to pay for it.
