Which lines of the L run all night? I had heard it was red and blue but I wasn't sure...

Also, one time I got on the Brown line to Kimball at about 10:30pm, when al lines should still be running. Well, it was running but the CTA voice came on and said that it was not going to be doing the usual route it does during the day, but would be going to Midway and other places instead.

I guess my question is what time do all the lines stop running their normal routes? Was this something that I just accidentally ran into and does not happen all the time?

A Brown Line to Kimball being diverted to Midway? No way. That doesn't make any sense geographically speaking. Anyway, the Red and Blue Lines run 24/7. As for when the rest stop running, you could always consult the train schedules on the CTA website.

That was last weekend. They were working on the track switching which meant only one half of the loop's elevated tracks were operating. So Brown line trains switched to Orange line trains and vice versa when they reached the loop.

a handy dandy CTA map is your friend. I usually carry one all the time. I don't know when any of the bus or rail lines stop running (except red and blue of course, as we have said don't ever stop), but if you whip out the map it will tell you really quickly.
