Anyone know of a good, reasonably-priced immigration lawyer?

My wife is Canadian, and we recently got married and did the application. Not sure what your situation is.

In this case, I am an American citizen, so I think it was relatively easy. We went downtown to the USCIS offices and made an appointment. We then explained our situation and the lady gave us the appropriate paperwork and fee amounts. It is a lot of work and a huge pain. I understand why there are so many illegals, because it takes quite a bit of time and inferring to fill out the forms. Pretty complicated, IMO. Between searching online and asking others, we were able to complete the process without a lawyer (granted, she hasn't been given her papers yet, but so far so good).

Going through this process makes me hate the government sometimes for making everything so complicated and drawn out when we are both hard working tax paying individuals. There are many illegals here who don't bother with any of the due diligence, and it can be quite frustrating to have to go through so much crap for honest people making an honest living. Just my two cents.

I had a neighbor who married an illegal Mexican and had a bunch of kids. He finally got around to applying and was waiting when it got caught in a drug sweep and got sent back. That was six years ago. The cost then was $5000 to become a citizen. The fees have changed.
