Would some of you be willing to talk about some of the books of the Bible, every chapter and verse over the coming time, this one is only 16 short chapters(Romans), not fighting topics and whipping people with verses, systematically studying and talking about a book and all the verses in it in context, in order, without violating other verses. Understanding God's Word in Truth, to obey it.

How about trying to write a verse and explain it in this thread, I will start another for the book of 1 John,

Can we start with chapter one and work through it, we are to be children, a child could understand the Bible, for they are innocent and loving God seeking the truth with their whole spirit

I welcome all to give it a try, quote verse one of chapter one and then write what it means, go to the next verse and so forth, it will be fun

building a foundation stone on stone 66 stones or books, I want to start with two stones, no prophecy is of any private interpretation, scripture is the same for all as truth is, 2+2=4 is the same for all, blue is the same, an oak is the same, we breath the same air, the sun is the same, we live by God's Word it is the same for all, lets get to what He says, and live it

example:
verse Romans 1:1
Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,

explanation,
Paul states He was called to be an apostle, he states over the course of the beginning of many of his books, God made him an apostle not man. He did not learn from men but directly from God. apostle means "sent", or sent directly by God, speaking for God.

Paul was separated to preach the gospel and doctrines of the Bible, he says this was done at the womb in another place, for evidentally God feels that way even though Paul was probably not a Christian until he was in his thirties, we are fearfully and wonderfully made in the lowest parts of the earth. Clearly he states he labored more than all the other apostles and was a head of them, He clearly is the greatest of the apostles as stated, the strongest Christian of the new testament, He explains how we keep the old testament in the new, for he constantly quotes from it, especially the law or the first 5 books of the Bible.

verse Romans 1:2
(Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)

explanation,
Paul was not promised afore, there is no scripture of him or predicting him(that I have ever heard of), the gospel was promised before is what is meant here, that was promised and as is said, the gospel was preached to them as well as to us the Bible says, that was the them of Moses day the gospel was preached to in the wilderness, the gospel did not start in the new testament, nor is it contained in it.

The gospel is singular and all matthew, mark, luke and john are part of the gospel(each an account, never gospels) as well as this book Romans is part of it, how could James or 1 John not be, etc..., so we do not tell people a few parts as if that is the whole gospel, Genesis has creation that is part of the gospel, Abraham is part of the gospel as David is, for David is Jesus's grandfather, so really it would be hard given the old testament is quoted all through the new, that the gospel is really the whole Bible, how can it be contained in 4 books considering Jesus spoke in parables and then the epistles explain clearly what we do with the four gospel books, Given the Word or whole Bible is God and Jesus, the Bible is the gospel

Ok two verses, i have given examples, please I would Love and so would God, if people would try going through the entire book of Romans this way, stay in context, in your own words explain the truth of each verse, stay in order please, you can site other verses is great

With love, please even if you are new to the Bible you can do this, it will change you, to work this way and not fight topics, it will change this place

Default Romans 1:

1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,

Romans 15:16 to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles with the priestly duty of proclaiming the gospel of God, so that the Gentiles might become an offering acceptable to God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

Titus 1:1 Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ for the faith of God's elect and the knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness--

1 Peter 4:17 For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God?

The doctrine that Paul wrote spoke of the Son of God...Jesus our Savior.

A Christian is obedient. And those, and those only, who are brought to obedience of the faith, are who are effectually called of Jesus Christ.

2 the gospel he promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures.

Romans 16:26 but now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings by the command of the eternal God, so that all nations might believe and obey him--

Titus 1:2 a faith and knowledge resting on the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time,

Christians that are obediant to the faith of God in Christ Jesus are beloved of God, and are members of that body which is beloved...and the duty of Christians is to be holy, and called to be saints. These are who the apostle is saluting...by wishing them grace to sanctify their souls, and peace to comfort their hearts, as springing from the free mercy of God, the reconciled Father of all believers, and coming to them through the Lord Jesus Christ.

In Him,
Verna.

Thank you Verna, please all it would be nice if we could do each verse in Chapter one in Romans, nice job Verna and the stuff in 1 John is nice to, it will be nice to see as we deal with the law and grace in this book and how people correctly understand it. I welcome more people to spend time listing the verses one by one in Chapter 1 of Romans and explaining them.

God Bless Pastor Timothy

Just a side note that might be useful on this thread on Romans:

the NASB gives a cross-reference of "tribulation" found in Romans 2:

"There will be tribulation and distress for every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek,"

in this verse in chapter 8:

"Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?"

So it would seem that the "tribulation" of the wicked will not separate them from God's Eternal Love.

Blessings!

Romans 1:
"Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God"

- Did Paul "separate himself" unto the gospel of God? Or was he "separated" by someone else?

If we look at Acts 9, we see that Saul (Paul) fell to the ground when he saw the Light from heaven (in his heart). God was "putting in the sickle" and reaping a harvest in Paul's being. Judgement had begun!

So too, God is separating some of us now, calling us to repentance and to New Life in His Son, who dwells within us. That we may be a testimony to the world of His Grace and Love.

Blessings!

It is funny how everyone focuses on seperated, Paul is the only Apostle to have been a Pharasee and he was seperated from his previous faith by Jesus. Remember Jesus appeared to him on the road to Damascus and Jesus instructed him personally similar to His three years with the other Apostles. The key here is that Paul already knew scripture and witnessed the effects of the life of Christ. The Gospel is revealed thruout the OT which was the only scriptures at the time and Paul had to be brought to the realization of the wholeness of his faith which seperated him from the Pharasees.

Dear P.T.,

In order for you to keep the integrity of your STUDY thread, you will have to establish the ground rules (which you have already established but some are not reading your request's and abiding by them...by the way).....or else...everyone who is NOT participating in the study of Romans as you desire, will come on and give their intepretation of the responses that are offered by those who ARE participating in this study as requested by you. The "conversations" should be kept between those who are participating in this study......otherwise it will be no different than any other thread...a mess of everything but what you desire in this one.

God Bless you,
Verna.

Default Romans 1:

3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;

4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

5 By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:

6 Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ:

7 To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Paul is speaking specifically to those who are indeed called of Jesus Christ. (See verse 6) The beloved of God, who are called to be saints. (See verse 7) These are to whom Paul addresses in each of His Epistles. Too many professed Christians scan over these passages in all of his Epistles, and when it says,"we"...or "us"..or "you" in the sense that God is speaking about pouring out His blessings upon and loving and protecting and guiding by and through His Holy Spirit, they think it speaks of anyone who is reading it...and they couldn't be more wrong. God's Holy Spirit isn't upon...guiding or leading...anyone who willfully sins. I have to tell you, if you live in and love your sins, it surely isn't the Holy Spirit of God who is leading you...it is another spirit indeed.

Unless you are living for God...keeping His Commandments...loving Him with all of your heart...soul...and strength..these letters are not written to you.

A willfull sinner...the beloved of God...? Nope.
A willfull sinner...a saint of the family of God...? Nope.
A wicked, willfull sinner, who does not obey His Commandments...called of Jesus Christ...? Nope.

Christ's resurrection, the last conviction, anyone who isn't convinced enough to be obedient to His word by that will be convinced by nothing.

The family of God are those who can call themselves sons of God...a brother to Jesus and a joint heir to all that our FATHER HAS IN STORE FOR THOSE WHO ARE SEALED...who are those who are sealed...?...those who keep His Commandments and keep the Sabbath holy unto God. They are who we acknowledge one another by this salutation: "Brother"..."Sister" in Christ Jesus.

Jesus said,
46 While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him. 47 Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee. 48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? 49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

Amen.

God Bless you,
Verna.
