Well, because you used the word "creation" which generally means the beginning of everything. If you mean something different from the normal understanding you need to say so or people will think you are batwhoop crazy, see?
This is one of the many reasons fundamentalism is so unappealing to younger persons: more of them actually understand science! Sorry, but the overwhelming preponderance of evidence indicates that earth is much, much, older. Even if it isn't quite as old as 4.5 billion years, it's still much older than 10K years.
I'll take actual evidence over mindless religious dogma.
