I believe he is referring to The Baby Talmud where one of the Rabbis said that the Messiah's name was Shiloh in reference to Gen.49:10, when asked what his name was. Shiloh, if I remember correctly, means 'to whom it belongs' and in the context of Gen.49:10 'it' refers to the scepter.
Of course he may have meant that Is.53 is referring to me - Shiloh1 - in that case yes please bow down and worship me. You can start by giving 10% of your wealth to my paypal account.

In 6 A.D. when Herod Archelaus was deposed by Caesar Augustus, Rabbi Rachman was heard wailing in the Temple saying,'' Woe is us, and woe is Jerusalem for Judah has dropped the scepter and Messiah has not come.''
But did Messiah come in 6 A.D.?
Luke 2 46And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions. 47And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers

There is plenty of interpretive problems in Gen.49:10 least of which is the text seemingly is saying that the scepter will be transferred from Judah to the one to whom it belongs and when that is done the nations will obey him. But that did not happen!
Let me guess - it will though...
2000 years later...?

"It was taught in the School of Elijah, the world will endure 6,000 years - 2,000 years in chaos, 2,000 with Torah, and 2,000 years will be the days of the Messiah." [BabylonianTalmud, Sanhedrin 97a]
Fair enough, but it depends how you look at it. The days of the king is where Messiah comes teaching secrets of Torah, and his days will be 2000 years, and so I haven't given up.
What I believe is that mankind changed when Jesus came, and Genesis 49 is a step ladder by which a person begins walking with God. The walk begins badly but it is ever increasing in blessing as a progressive ladder that ends up in the west where a person reaches for the greatest prize in Benjamin.
I believe the coming of the Messiah is as the rain as Hosea says, that there are two comings and the first is to be a servant, where the last is to be a king in a person.
That Jesus came in the spring and that he will also come for Sukkot, but that the first coming was in the flesh, and the second coming of Messiah is within a person.

According to the prophecies, you are....At least that is the way I interpret it...

I believe so as well. I mean that was my 4576 post and Genesis 45:7 and the sixth Hebrew word [posterity] is exactly in the middle of the verse which says. 'God sent me ahead of you to preserve you on the earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance.'
Can't get much clearer than that!
There is before all of you a choice and what you do from hence forth shall establish thy soul - choose wisely. Who do you say that I am?
