That may sound odd if you are not in a state that allows guns, seen openly, especially, as in TX. CO and FL ...
all states I've lived in, we see that every day, along with hunting knives visible in any store.
But I would attend a church where it was known the Pastor or a security guard that could
see all the doors was present. (Maybe posted outside with side doors locked, one way in.)
Maybe, a volunteer so it didn't cost the Church anything.
We had one here that shot a shooter and saved some lives...a female guard.

Or another way to put it...should a church advertise..." Armed security for your protection."
I would go there!

Sigh, should Pastors carry a pistol and make that known?

Sounds like a great idea if church goers want to delay their trip to eternal paradise and to try and change god/jesus's devine plan.

The worst that man can do is to send me home to my Lord.
So, no need for guns in church.

It works for airplanes, right, "Unmarked, armed guards may be present. Attempt a hijacking at your own risk."
And we know there is a lot of praying that goes on in airplanes, too.

Yes, I can relate to THAT!
However, thinking of the others with families....?
I'm into it...I'm also into armed security guards at Wal-Mart! And airports and anyplace some
kook wants to hurt me and others...maim, cripple...they are
the wild card here on earth...like terrorists.
It can be a 'turn your cheek moment'...or not...I go with not.

No. No matter what is going on around us, we shouldn't lower ourselves to the level of others. We don't need that kind of retrograde mindset. "Society is declining and becoming more savage and primitive, so we should too". No, that's clearly not the answer. We are to hold true to what is smart and sane, and continue to - at the very least - serve as an example of the healthy, loving, and stable ways.

People matching scripture more would help. Pastors more closely matching the world would not.

I get that, too, and want your input....of course....but an infant beating, mentally deranged
guy with an automatic rifle mowing down children and my loved ones...I pretty much draw the line there. In fact, I would donate $ towards armed protection.

Does anyone know how big those bullets are and the damage? They are nothing like an 9mm.

Is this by chance related to the same topic of the TX massacre shootings that was started earlier today?

I'm always the one going nuts watching a movie when a helpless mom and child are
are cowering in a closet in an isolated home while a maniac is about to kill them.
"Why don't you have protection!!?"

I want sane people to have protection from the angry, mentally deranged, criminals. I do.
I may be influenced because of things that have happened to innocent, young, vibrant
people I know...now dead.
Actually a law was passed in NY because of one, 'Jenna's Law'.
