Dear Hans,

Exodus 12:23 NAS [A Memorial of Redemption] "For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians ; and when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the LORD will pass over the door and will not allow the destroyer to come in to your houses to smite you.

Seen the old Charlton Heston movie The Ten Commandments , which God sends Moses to Egypt to take The children of Israel out of bondage , which he goes there and demands the release of these people to no avail and God brings plagues against Egypt to scare the leader to release the Israelites , then God bring a hard plague of all the first born children will be killed in the Passover , where all people must get a lamb and on this day they are to cook and eat all the lamb even with their neighbors if the people of the home are less and put the blood over their doors , so if they fail to obey then the first born will be killed , which was the redemption from being killed and the being taken out of Egypt is a redemption from God ..... So the leader of Egypt son was killed and he kicked the Israelites out of Egypt , which they took all they could and the bread which had no leaven was also taken which was a symbol of humilities where they left Egypt and they walked on water over the Red Sea , and into the land near Midian where the mountain of God was and the rock of Horab, and Moses had a Tabernacle under the call of the Lord which the Israelites Worship the Lord in the wilderness ......... Get the Movie it came out on Blu-ray last year ..

Hans, the entire Book of Exodus is a story of redemption, restoration and relationship to Jehovah the Redeemer. It typified of what was to come in Christ Jesus.

Many times the redeeming of the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt is typified as God's redemption spiritually.

God saves those who listen and obey Him, regardless of nationality.

EX 12: 37 And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot that were men, beside children.
38 And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle.

If anyone did not obey and leave WITH God's people, they did not experience the salvation and release from slavery to Egypt.

Redemption is deliverance or rescue or salvation. When one is redeemed they are recovered or bought back.

By putting blood on the door frames the Israelites were delivered from Egypt.
They were also delivered though the Red Sea.
Thus they were saved or rescued to help fulfill Messianic prophecy - Genesis 3 v 15

Jesus is our Redeemer in that Jesus is our Ransom because Satan and Adam put us in the Pawn Shop of Death.
Jesus pays off our debt delivering us from sin and its bad consequence of death. Redeemable mankind [ those Not guilty of the unforgivable sin - Mt. 12 v 32; Heb. 6 vs 4-6 ] will be redeemed by being resurrected back to life.- Acts 24 v 15
Everlasting life for obedient ones. Some to heavenly life, the majority of mankind redeemed to live forever on Earth.

So, the redemptive quality of the blood on the door frames prefigured Jesus' sacrificial blood to redeem us.

However, when the Israelites literally left Egypt they were literally saved alive.
Today we can Not literally leave an Egyptian non-biblical world, but we can be No part of its unbiblical agenda.
Today we can have a ' spiritual paradise ' before the start of Jesus' coming 1000-year kingdom reign over Earth.
We can gather together with like-minded Christians. - Hebrews 10 vs 24-26
As the Israelites were saved alive [ Isaiah 26 v 20 ] so can the humble ' sheep ' of Matthew 25 vs 31,32.
We are nearing the threshold of Jesus' 1000-year kingdom reign over earth.
The living ' sheep ' alive on Earth at the coming ' time of separation ' can remain alive on Earth, and keep on living on Earth right into the start of Jesus' millennium-long day of reigning over Earth because Jesus has judged the humble ' sheep ' as being the redeeming or redeemable part of mankind.
