Tomorrow is Flag Day, so today, at 11 A.M., in the Blackshear City park, the American Legion is having a Flag Burning Ceremony..retiring all those old tattered flags. It's a pretty moving ceremony.
As the Chaplain of our local post, I have the privilege of being part of the ceremony, leading all in prayer.
Pray that lives would be touched, and that people would remember to pray for the US of A.

I do hope you make it a nondenominational prayer, there are many of us veterans of many different faiths that fought and gave our lives so that that flag may fly free.

No, I meant exactly what I said. I am a Vietnam Vet and I fought side by side with my brothers of all different faith and those of no faith at all and when you're in the jungles fighting a common enemy it doesn't make any difference what your faith or belief is, we all bleed the same. I lost a couple of very good friends over there and they have been honored with their names on "The Wall" and they bled the same color blood as the rest of us and they fought the same skirmishes and believed the same about that flag, they gave the ultimate so that that flag can fly free and nobody asked them what their religious or cultural belief was, we were all brothers in arms and that's all that counts and that's why I said nondenominational.
