Of the many pagan practices and rituals of the Roman Catholic Church, one of the most blasphemous is the practice of the Mass. The Mass is a perversion of the Lord's Supper which is a Memorial of Christ's death on the Cross. (Matt. 26:26-28; I Cor. 11:23-27)
But the Catholic church changes it from a memorial, into a sacrifice. The Mass recrucifies the Lord. And in so doing it calls the sacrifice of Christ on the Cross incomplete and ineffectual. But here is what Hebrews 10:10-12,14 says about it.
10) By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ ONCE FOR ALL. 11) And every priest stands daily ministering and offering time after time the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins; 12) but He, having offered One SACRIFICE FOR SINS FOR ALL TIME, SAT DOWN AT THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD. 14) For by ONE offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.
The sacrifice of Christ was perfect and complete. But not as far as the Roman Catholic church is concerned.
They believe that the Catholic priest has the ability to change the bread and the wine into the body and blood of Christ. That's called transubstantiation. So they, as far as they are concerned, are eating and drinking the actual body and blood of Christ ( the practice of which is forbidden in Gen. 9:4; Leviticus 17:11-12; and Acts 15:29) as opposed to the true concept of the bread and wine being representitive of the body and blood of Christ. They are putting Christ back up on the Cross and recrucifying Him. And it is an absolute blaspheme. An insult to the Lord.
This is just one of the reasons why Roman Catholicism is false Christianity. a Satanic counterfeit of true Christianity.
To those of you who are Catholic, I urge you to take note of this and come to the true knowledge of God, and flee from the Roman Catholic Church.
Well, before you poke your finger in the eye of the Catholics you probably should pull out the Sequoia tree out of your eye and do this:
"God will have all mankind to be saved for. . . Christ ransomed all" and "God is the Saviour of all mankind, especially of the believer. THESE THINGS COMMAND AND TEACH (1 Tim.2:4-6; 4:10,11).
Start being obedient to the Lord first and quit preaching God will not save all and is not all mankind's Saviour and then you can take out the splinter from the eye of the Catholics.
Keep in mind that this is the Christianity forum where Christians are free to discuss those things pertaining to our faith and our worship practices..We are free to debate the differences we may interpret scripture or other things of that nature.. We are free to ask questions....but we are not free to deliberately "bash" our brothers and sisters worship practices because they differ from our own interpretations of scripture..
