Ive been wanting to trade in my honda civic to get a 4 door jeep wrangler. I want a car that can handle any weather, snow, not get a flat if you drive over some branches out in nature. When I had my Hyundai I got so many flats. Those tires could not handle anything. And I slid all over in the snow. I want the kind of car that can plow right over that snow, without getting a truck. I want a 4 door, big strong tires, but NOT a truck or mini van. A jeep seemed perfect for me. But everyone Ive talked to says Jeep has a lot of problems. That they break down a lot. Even when they are still new. Is Jeep still the best way to go? Or is there a good alternative? Something not crazy expensive that wont break down all the time.
The Wrangler is one of the best vehicles for retaining value as it ages. It's not keeping its value better than just about every other car sold because it is a junk heap that disintegrates when you drive it off the lot.
The Wranglers I have had (2 of them, but none in more recent years... I have owned two more recent Chargers though so am familiar with current FCA products), had an occasional minor things but nothing major, extensive, or premature. Of the two Jeeps and two Chargers, only one of the four ever needed a warranty repair, and that was for a broken cruise control button. Hardly a major issue in my book.
I would not be so overly concerned with reliability of a Wrangler that you go buy something else you want less.
Well I appreciate that. I was pretty set on the jeep wrangler. It had good reviews for driving in snow and I love the body style. But then one person after another kept telling me to steer clear of jeeps. Saying dont buy, maybe only lease. Because they have constant problems. Ive never had one so I cant say.
