But of course the likelihood is slim. It would be entertaining to watch, though.

There's also the flying pig marathon. Perhaps I should have used monkeys.

And people say Cincinnatians have no humor. Just what do you call the Flying Pigs? Cincy can spoof itself as well as anyone. We are not tied up in our own self esteem.

Do you not remember the huge outrage that occurred when those sculptures were installed at Sawyer Point in the late 1980s? You'd have thought the world was coming to an end, what with all the letters to the editor of the newspapers, TV reporters interviewing upstanding citizens who took offense, etc.

The kind that fly out of one's butt, or the kind that merely fly?

But the fact is the 80s are now long ago. Give us some credit for at least mellowing a degree. I believe most people now enjoy the pigs, I know I do.

There's decorative pigs all over downtown as well. Porkopolis.

Years ago a guy I worked with at the Post Office in CT called Cincinnati a little Big City. It's a city that behaves as if it is larger than it really is yet without the pretentious airs of trying to be something it is not.

^^I used to think Cincinnati was terribly provincial. Then I moved to Philadelphia and found it's even more provincial, and that New York beats them all.

Hey, there's an idea for a new bumper sticker:

Cincinnati: Not as provincial as some larger cities
