Train noise in Oakley? (apartment complex, houses, live)

I'm looking at a house near (about a quarter mile from) an active freight rail in Oakley. This is near Brotherton Rd. and Paxton Woods Ln. Does anyone know how to find out when the trains go through, and how loud they get? I'm trying to think of other ways to do this than sleeping in my car on the street!

FYI, this is different from the line that runs along Wasson Rd.

Of course, the railroads have to run a train down the line every now and then or they can lose their right of way from the state. But that line doesn't really go anywhere much, and I can't remember ever seeing a moving train on it. That same line runs out through Madiera and Indian Hill and hasn't harmed their values. I can' imagine it would be a problem.

Yeah, trains do not run through there often at all and i have quite a few people in that area and have never heard a single complaint about this.

I live kind of near there (much closer to the Wasson tracks though) and I havn't had any train noise issues.

Late at night I tend to hear a couple train whistles, but it's always rather faint. To be honest, I'm not even sure which tracks it comes from. It's not bad at all.

Wasson has no actual traffic other then the perfuctory switch engine for legal reasons. What you hear is the traffic all the way from Eastern Ave. I hear it too, from Ault PArk.

I live just north of the railroad tracks that run just north of Brotherton. I'm east of Ridge in the big apartment complex.

I don't keep close track, but trains seem to only pass about 3 times a week, usually in the very late evening(11 PM-1 AM time range).

It is kind of loud, but I'm VERY close to the tracks (my particular unit is one of the closest in the complex to the tracks). The trains typically pass in 5 minutes.

Yes, train noises are loud in Indian Hill. I'm not that close to the tracks and it wakes me up regularly, passing through sometimes 3 times a night.

I lived fairly close to the train in Indian Hill. Not close enough to be bothered by the noise. However, I seemed to always have a fine layer of coal dust on everything. Had to dust daily. Mind you this was in the late 70's early 80's, coal dust might not be an issue any longer. I lived on Vinewood a few houses from Plainville Rd.
