Okay, this site has helped me a lot with my research for a new home. Now i have it somewhat narrowed down between four states; VA (where i currently live), NC, SC, and TN. My city choices have a lot to do with my company, Wachovia, being in each one and they have a cheap standard of living. Which one of these cities would be the best fit for my critieria?

- Inexpensive ( i may only make $25k a yr when the time comes, $32k if i get lucky)
- Easy to avoid bad areas
- 4-yr schools with decent reputations
- good AG/pentacostal churches

Seems like Richmond is leading, any comments?

Richmond, Columbia, or Knoxville. Do not move to Winston Salem, you"ll regret doing so.

Columbia is nice, safe, and has a strong religious presence (but not in an overpowering or pushy way).

Richmond would be an okay choice, although there are quite a few dangerous areas, you just have to be smart about it.

TN and NC are getting more expensive.

I'm curious, which city did you choose?

Well, that was certainly not in the list of choices, but I guess that's life.

LOL, right. Not a bad choice though; Louisville definitely gets overlooked and is a bit underrated.
