For comparison.....
The number of people unemployed in New York peaked in January 2010 at 914,194
The number of people unemployed in Chicago peaked in January 2010 at 563,306
why are you using numbers from January 2010? L.A and L.A boosters havent shaken off that they were healthier then; I wish for the best of L.A to recover but I only fear the worst is yet to come. L.A is at crossroads and is a dying economy, exposed for the economic cesspool it is. Add Riverside to it and do math yourself of total workforce population and figure unemployment.

Sorry but those are not from credible source. anyone who has calculator can disprove those scam sources you used, if you check yourself you will see L.A is not Ok and is rotting away economically. Get well soon L.A; the US is ready to leave it in dust

no you are twisting things, even with your 'credible' source you posted Jan 2010 for peak unemployment when it shows July was L.A's peak with 810,320. are you proud L.A has 12% unemployment rate? that is 3rd world level; as bad as Jakarta. L.A homers are so proud of failure, 12% unemployment rate and its Ok dooode just grab a joint and surfboard bruh and wait until the economy comes back and go to the beach while you wait doode. I have never seen anyone take pride in 12% of failure like the way angelinos do

Clearly your head is foggy still. LA PEAKED IN JULY, LOOK AT MY POST.

You are some kinda NY homer who loves to bash on LA, thats all, its clear.

You've already admitted you were off by a mere 300,000!!!! Now thats funny.

Hey when you live in economically depressed places like L.A 1.4 mill or 1.7 mill doesnt make difference, it is still large quantifiable number for any metro.

Of course L.A peaked in July, I have been saying that because it had unemployment rate of 12.5% in July and I like how you avoid my questioning of L.A's celebration of failure by asserting I am NY homer. L.A is dying economically, it makes sense for angelinos to celebrate 12% failure rate because that is as good as it will ever be in L.A.
Have angelinos ever thought that in metro of 18 million [CSA] they only have GDP of $866 bill to NY a metro of 19 million [MSA] with GDP of 1.2 trill? L.A is poor and its economy is 3rd world like. SF, CHI, Dal, Hou, Phila, Boston, and Seattle would have larger GDP if same size as L.A

There is nothing for L.A to be proud of, it is a 2nd rate immigrant refuge for poor and hardly educated immigrants to come from depressing 3rd world countries and make the city more 3rd world. Its even more sad when they invite family to come see L.A and family goes back to their home countries only to tell their relatives and friends that they saw America, they saw the most pathetic example of America

What a dark future, get well soon L.A

What the hell are you talking about??

Cities like Detroit and Chicago have MUCH worse economies than LA.

LA doesn't lose 70,000 jobs annually like Chicago.

Look at the federal BLS numbers.

You must be smoking crack if you think Chicago is worse than L.A. L.A 12% unemployment rate, Chicago 9.4% unemployment rate just look at the Federal BLS numbers. On YouTube many videos of L.A's economy, poor getting poorer, trying to get by dealing drugs, sad and pathetic

You mean to say the federal government must be smoking crack??

The federal govt. numbers show that Chicago is losing 70,000 jobs annually, by far the worst in the nation.

The second worst is Detroit, with 30,000 lost jobs annually.

So LA is a boomtown compared to these cities.
