USA metro area GDP it base on 2021 data the 2022 data will be release by summer 2023.

San Francisco/Bay Area was fastest GDP growth in 2021 follow by Austin, Seattle, Raleigh/Durham, Dallas

Manhattan, NYC GDP is over 601 billion in 2018, $93.3 billion for Queens, The Bronx $42.7 billion, Staten Island $14.5 billion, $91.5 billion for Brooklyn

I agree San Francisco Bay Area is threat for Chicago GDP it will overtake it soon. Seattle is on Boston and Houston trail it will be something to watch when 2022 numbers come in.

Extremely unlikely for Seattle to overtake Houston in 2022 of all years. Seattle is tech centric which had a down year in 2022. Houston is energy which skyrocketed in 2022

Same for Boston with Providence/Worcester. The difference wouldn’t be as dramatic, but it’d still be significant.

DC actually isn’t ranked very high for growth in the report referenced by the article:

If San Francisco and San Jose are combined, as they should be, the area would be #3 or #2.
