In terms of overall diversity, which state do you think has the widest range of different nationalities as a whole state?

Probably California. Around 27% of their population is foreign born.

Maybe so, but that 27% is almost certainly dominated by one specific nationality/ethnicity.

If I had to guess, I'd say either New York or New Jersey.

With out a doubt, California & not just Latino & Asian. There are also significant numbers of Armenians/ Persians [Iranians]/ large population of people from India /Russia /Jews /Coptics. Lots of ex-New Yorkers. Every Asian nationality provides great dinning.

California was discovered & colonized by the Spaniards as well as Mexico. Spanish is the primary language in parts of California & why it is wise to be bi-lingual. California is more racially mixed than the US & more a blend of cultures.

I know New York City & its diversity [lots of Caribbean’s/ Puerto Ricans/ East Indies Blacks but also many Europeans - more than any other American city. English is the primary tongue since the Northeast was part of the 13 Colonies of England

Ethnically diverse or ethnically integrated and harmonious? Out of all of the states one would usually answer with, if the question was inclusive of both terms, only California and possibly Texas would remain.

California is hands down the most diverse state and cities like New York and Los Angeles are hallmarks for ethnic diversity, but they are also some of the most racially segregated cities due to the large number of ethnic enclaves and obvious history of white/black segregation (despite being the most socially liberal areas in the country). Cities that are diverse with great ethnic integration - Houston, parts of the Bay Area and Sacramento, and parts of South Florida like areas around Tampa.

I guess it depends on what you mean by diverse-Hawaii has a very large Asian population, but as for having races from all over, i would say not even close to California.
