Deceiving can be in one of two ways


1. The neighborhood looks somewhat safe driving by, but is actually extremely dangerous

2. The neighborhood looks extremely dangerous/bombed out driving by, but is actually relatively safe

Well to an outsider, a lot of places in NYC would look run down at first glance but are actually safe.

The Marigny and Bywater neighborhoods are just outside of the French Quarter, is really beautiful, dense, neighborhood but I wouldn't want to walk around there at night much.
