Why would Seattle be a 5 while Pittsburgh and St. Louis are 4s?

Also, why would San Francisco be a 2 while Dallas is a 1? SF has the more populated CSA, the bigger economy, the more cultural importance, etc. etc.

according to wikipedia seattle is the 5th largest population metro in the west and pittsburgh is the 4th largest in the east and st. louis is the 4th largest in the midwest.

the seedings only considered metro population so san francisco is the 2nd largest in the west and dallas is the largest in the south.

I find it interesting that the numbers for each pair don't all add up.

As of now...

Votes for NYC + Pitt = 29
Votes for Boston + Philly = 33
Votes for Miami + Dallas = 29
Votes for DC + Houston = 33
Votes for Chicago + Cinnci = 30
Votes for Minneapolis + Detroit = 28
Votes for LA + Seattle = 28
Votes for San Diego + San Fran = 28

Thoughts?

seems like some people are obstaining from voting from certain matchups. which is ok if they feel they don't know enough about one of the cities.

i would say the catagories above should have a higher priority. if you are passionate about weather or geography then i think that would affect your quality-of-life of the city you are living in.
