I'm surprised to see Chicago pulling for the 49ers, considering what they did to several bears would be super bowl runs in the 80s and basically keeping them out of the playoffs this year. Besides the in conference teams like the pack and the vikings, 49ers are like an arch enemy...

Its funny looking at the map and seeing that the Cowboys are at least in the top two or three in the US in terms of numbers of fans, but my international travels confirm how far the reach really is. Ive seen Dallas Cowboy bars in Mexico City, Seoul, Tokyo, and London.

No doubt, the Steelers have a far reach too, but I question if its as deep as the Cowboys.
The term as it relates to fans and being deep seems juxtaposed in the Cowboys sense

I jest I jest

That's tough to say. They are really about neck and neck. Steeler fans seem to have a greater presence, however, especially at away games.

Steelers fans are incredible - YouTube

Cowboy fans tend to be more fair weather, imo.

And most of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. I'm over on the east end, which is Lion's territory according to that map, but I'd say it's mostly mixed between here and the central UP. After that it's deep Green Bay territory. The Upper Peninsula west of Marquette or so is basically Wisconsin.

Thats tough to judge as the Steelers have had more success recently. Let the Steelers go through a few seasons like the one they just had and it would be more clear.

I do not get this argument. How do you fair weather a team that has struggled mostly for the past 17 years? They still have one of the largest, if not the largest, followings even though the team has been average at best. There's nothing to fair weather. Dallas fans sell out the stadium, is 1st in merchandise sells, and ratings. all while following a team thats 8-8, won one playiff game since 1996, and is about .500 since 1996. Any fan of the Cowboys that has put up with Jerry Jones crap is loyal. And there are lots of loyal fans as we can see.

Our (Ravens) fanbase is the smallest in the country, geographically speaking.
