Best place to spend your 40s with no kids?

Denver is not all it's cracked up to be. People aren't that nice. The driving is liturally life threatening. I lived there for 18 years from NY. I never got used to it. Nobody is actually from there either, therefore no one really take ownership of the city. Now livening in the Mountains is a whole diff story. ( very nice. But you have to have your finacal life together and moving nicely to make it.

I have lived in Los angeles my whole life, I have travelled to 46 states of the Union, but I am in my early 40's trying to decide where to go next. I don't have children and I am single. I work in the IT field and I am contemplating leaving Los Angeles. The same boring weather, high real estate market, crowded neighborhoods becoming apartment jungle is gotten me to get real bored of LA. What do you guys suggest? I like cycling (road bicycle, tennis, hiking, camping, dating, meeting new folks). Can people in this forum please send me some suggestion of cities. Thank you.
