These are all up and coming medium-sized cities that are comparable by different measures.They are great for suburban living but how do they compare as an URBAN living experience within their city propers?What do you think they lack?How could they be better?The quality of their museums,parks,are they bicycle friendly,do they encourage urbanity etc...
Which does this the worst and who does it best?
Baltimore is above all those cities mentioned.(no trolling on my part) Baltimore has more people then D.C.(only estimates says D.C. is more, but estimates are always wrong) and Boston, and is dense.
Nashville does pretty well out of list but still is not enough.If the festiveness of Nashville and the urbanity of Baltimore could be put together it would be a perfect city.
Baltimore is too gritty for my tastes but it has great architecture,history and museums.
Nashville has a nice core but its very small.It also lacks a mass transit.It has decent parks.
Charlotte is a city for suburbanites.Its not a city you move to if you want great urban living.
Austin is getting there and is the close to great urban living but not there yet
San Antonio is great and has excellent bones but its still too spread out.
I've heard great things about Louisville but I have never been.
Orlando is decent but like Charlotte it needs and identity.

Both have an identity, Orlando more so than Charlotte: Disney and amusement parks. I know Orlando offers more than that, but that is its primary identity and it's a pretty strong one.
