Which of these four cities feels the most isolated to you to the rest of the US?

Seattle - At the very far northwest corner of the US. You have it surrounded by mountain ranges and the sea, however, you do have Portland close by, and while not in the US, another major population center with Vancouver over the border.

Miami - At the very far southeast corner of the US. Surrounded by the Everglades on one side and the ocean on the other, Miami is closer to the Bahamas and Cuba than it is to most of the cities in its own state and fairly detached from the rest of the US.

Denver - Sits smack dab in the middle of the country. You are surrounded by nothing but the US, however, in Denver, you are far from any other major cities.

Portland (OR) - Very northeast corner of the US, there really isn't too much around except for Boston, and you are surrounded by states with low populations.

I didn't include San Diego (the missing corner of the US) simply because it's too close to LA and the LA metro alone has a bigger population than most states in the US, so while San Diego isn't close to a lot of other cities, the one it is very close to is so massive that it's hard to feel isolated.

Denver for sure, but Seattle gives off this feeling too even though it does have the advantage of closer proximity to Portland and Vancouver.

Compared to Europe, pretty much every US city seems isolated.
