Having recently visited Cincinnati and currently living in Salt Lake City I couldn't help but notice obviously the vast differences in the cities, but make comparisons between the two. Cincinnati is much older, green, hilly, and has a more dense downtown. Salt Lake is noticeably newer, more transit options, better traffic, and the proximity to the mountains. I wanted to get a sense of how people would compare the two because they both have a lot going for them in different ways.
I've never visited Salt Lake City, but it's geography is absolutely stunning. I'm also envious of their transit system. The city is so new and revitalized, that it's already reached Cincinnati's tier. Based on their leadership and accomplishments, I'd say Salt Lake has a brighter future. If Cincinnati can figure out how to stay on a steady path forward, open their minds to new ideas, and embrace their own populous, I can only imagine the possibilities for that place.
As a "city" SLC doesn't even remotely compare to Cinci.
Cinci is a dense, historic, cultural and architectural diamond.
SLC is a fine town and the mountains are beautiful.
Mountain scenery, skiing, less crime and better public transit are SLC's only advantages.
Cinci is superior in every other detail and also has beautiful natural scenery.
Cinci's steep hills and bluffs are right in the city, offering beautiful visuals.

How is Cincinnati better in every other way? Just because it's older? From what I've seen, it looks like the typical rust belt city. A bit run down and like a fraction of what it use to be.
Neither, but SLC has a better natural environment and less rust belt nastiness.
Cincinnati is surrounded by rivers and beautiful hills. This "rustbelt nastiness" you speak of doesn't exist and is nothing but a reflection of your social stigma.
Yeah, but it probably has more west coast pretentiousness, so it's a trade off.
That would be something since SLC isn't even a West Coast city.

It's not; its decline wasn't nearly as steep and dramatic as other Rust Belt cities and you can tell if you've ever visited.
