What city have you lived/visited where the pace of lifestyle did not reflect the population?

I will nominate my city as being one of the slower paced cities. I can't really speak for anywhere else because it's the only major city I have lived.

I have a hard time believing Houston is slow in any way. Any time you get a lot of people together in one area, you have something of a fast pace. Perhaps relative to its size?

As for my own city, we have a real mix...especially on the road. We have a lot of old people so they usually drive slow; but the younger and middle aged people typically move. I had a friend from New Jersey who weaved through traffic like nothing I've ever seen; but he was afraid of the fast lane on the Parkway East!

People in Houston drive fast. Actually, it was quite present to drive in the left lane and have people go into the right lane when you approach! (I'm one of those "movers." )

I think he means that people here are more relaxed and less stressed than other cities. Must be the great job market
