Long Beach, CA is not in Orange County. It is in Los Angeles County, but borders Orange County. Also rich people is not all Long Beach, nor is it all of Orange County (which Long Beach isn't in). The coastal neighborhoods, especially Naples, Belmont Shore, etc... have many affluent families. There are many middle class neighborhoods and also some neighborhoods in the north away from the coast full of gangs and poverty.

Long Beach is actually one of the more diverse places in the country. 33% White, 36% Hispanic, 15% African American, 12% Asian, 4% other. USA Today calls it the most diverse city in the country, socioeconmically and ethnically.

Just thought I would correct one false "picture" for you.

Atlanta, GA - Hot.

Austin, TX - Not as cool as they make it out to be.

Baltimore, MD - Gritty.

Boston, MA - Tea Party.

Chicago, IL - Lake Michigan.

Cleveland, OH - The movie Major League.

Colorado Springs, CO - Pike's Peak... I think

Columbus, OH - Surprisingly has two major-league teams.

Dallas, TX - Sprawling, hot, doesn't seem to care much for old buildings.

Denver, CO - Mountain backdrop.

Detroit, MI - Sad. Very sad. Should be one of our greatest cities... but isn't.

Honolulu, HI - Out in the middle of the ocean.

Houston, TX - Humidity.

Indianapolis, IN - Indy 500.

Jacksonville, FL - Just another Florida town.

Kansas City, MO - The Royals. GO ROYALS!! A lot different and better than people in Houston think. Guess you could say that about a lot of towns, though.

Las Vegas, Nev. - Casinos. Kind of gross.

Long Beach, CA - Uhh.. a beach?

Los Angeles, CA - Excess. Like Detroit, should be a great town, but doesn't seem to be so, although for very different reasons.

Memphis, TN - Beale Street. Mississippi River.

Miami, FL - Is that still in the U.S.?

Milwaukee, WI - Motorcycles, beer.

Minneapolis, MN - Like the OP, lakes, rivers, cleaner than most cities.

New Orleans, LA - Below sea level, yet right next to the sea.

New York, NY - Tall buildings.

Oakland, CA - Bad reputation.

Oklahoma City, OK - Tornados.

Philadelphia, PA - History.

Phoenix, AZ - Hot. Dry.

Portland, OR - Liberal hotbed.

St. Louis, MO - The arch.

San Antonio, TX - The Alamo.

San Diego, CA - The easiest meteorologist job in the country.

San Francisco, CA - Golden Gate.

Seattle, WA - Rain.

Washington, DC -
