Hi everyone
sorry for my English skills.I dont have clear English because I am improving these yet.I will finish my school this year and I will go USA for improving my Engish.I will start language school for that reason
but I have not choosen city yet
I want a city that is multicultural, safety, clean and friendly people and I wil go learn English so people should speak English more than Spanish etc.
I think 3 cities : Boston,San Diego and SF
I am also thinking NY but people said Boston is close to NY and better than NY because Boston is less crowded and more safety
so Do u think I had choosen true 3 cities
and If u say yes u did , what will be true city for me
Pick one of the California cities. If you are going to learn English, learn the neutral accent of California. The accent of the Boston area is not pleasing to everyone.
^ you mean the neutral Mid-Atlantic accent that spread throughout the country , but I think all 3 of these cities are good choices. San Fran would be my choice.

actually, very few people in Boston have that strong accent
I'd say Boston. SF is a much more fun city, and way more multicultural, but if you want to be immersed in English and learn/train in a more thoroughbred English-speaking "colonial" (read British/American) city with superior liberal arts colleges in the area, Boston is tough to beat. You won't necessarily pick up the local accent, as others have said, it's only a percentage of people that speak that way.
Also, Boston has much more historical context in the formation of America and as a British colony. While SF also has abundant history and is an old city, it feels...a little less "American" and there are more foreign languages spoken there and less English. The focus of SF is considerably more global, with more Asians and Hispanics, and it's a different vibe. Do I like it better? Yes. But if I wanted to learn English, the roots of the English language (roots are European - Latin and Germanic), and simultaneously learn a bit about American history, and conversely as a result - European history, then Boston is a better city for that with better programs and better immersion.
Accent wise, SF is definitely more neutral than SD (I said definitely, but it isn't easily noticeable though). Slang is another story though.
Yeah, San Francisco and the Bay Area are so slang-heavy I can't consider the way people speak there neutral. It can sound like people are speaking a different language when one in five words being spoken is local slang.
