Why would I need to go to Boston? I'm from New York and now live in Minneapolis.

I've been to Boston btw, it is more urban than Minneapolis but Minneapolis probably has a higher standard of living.
Boston has the third highest quality of life in the nation, after Honolulu and San Fran, but who's counting?

I have nothing against Minneapolis and Minnesota ('cept Michelle Bachman) but it ain't no Boston.

Boston ranks up there with NYC, LA, Chicago, DC and San Fran.

Chicago and SF, sure. But Boston does not rank up there with LA, DC, or NYC.

I don't shop at Target and I don't eat cereal.

but I do enjoy that freedom stuff hard fought by those rabblerousers known as Bostonians.

I wouldn't rank Boston with Chicago; maybe San Francisco though.

I like both, but I'm going with Minneapolis because of some of its great buildings such as the Wells Fargo, Capella, Cambell Mithun, 50 South Sixth, and LaSalle Plaza.

The cost of living in those cities is through the roof. In Minneapolis someone with a blue collar job can afford to buy a house in a neighborhood that isn't a slum. Try that in Boston, San Francisco or Honolulu. This creates a degree of social justice that doesn't exist in the big cities on the coasts.

The ratio of pay to cost of living is strongly in Minneapolis' favor. It has a coastal pay scale with Midwestern prices. I say this from experience. I am a chef, financially I live better here than I would in any of the places you mentioned; and probably better than most other places in the country.

Could be because they don't all share your opinion.
