I've seen people say Adam's Morgan for DC. Eh. Give me Gallery Place and U Street over Adam's Morgan anyday or night.

Gaslamp District (San Diego, CA). For Los Angeles instead of Hollywood i would include the whole Sunset Strip.

In Orlando there are a couple nightlife areas geared toward tourism, but forget those...the real nightlife district is downtown Orlando itself. There are several blocks of bars and clubs on and off of Orange Ave featuring every type of music you can think of. As far as a walkable block party atmosphere goes, it can hang with the best places I have been, and it is the craziest place I have ever seen on Halloween. There are no huge multi-level bars like you find in Vegas, NYC, and Miami, but over 40 smaller venues you can walk to very easily and a few mid-sized ones. Don't knock Orlando until you have been downtown on a Saturday night...it's pretty crazy. The one real thing keeping it from greatness is the 2 AM last call.

This list must be from 1999, because it includes Buckhead in Atlanta and The Flats in Cleveland. Nightlife in both of those places is dead compared to how it used to be.

I’ve done extensive business travel that has taken me to most major U.S. cities. Notable towns that have a reputation for good nightlife that I have not been to and therefore can not judge: Nashville, Memphis, Mobile, Milwaukee, and Savannah. I apologize if someone has asked this question before, I’m relatively new to this forum.

1)The Strip (Las Vegas, NV)
2)South Beach (Miami, FL)
3)Rush Street (Chicago, IL)
4)Greenwich Village (New York, NY)
5)Bourbon Street (New Orleans, LA)
6)Times Square (New York, NY)
7)Hollywod (Los Angeles, CA)
8)North Beach (San Francisco, CA)
9)Buckhead (Atlanta, GA)
10)Gaslamp District (San Diego, CA)
11)Back Bay (Boston, MA)
12)Georgetown (Washington, DC)
13)Lodo (Denver, CO)
14)South Street (Philadelphia, PA)
15)Wriglyville (Chicago, IL)
16)6th Street (Austin, TX))
17)The Flats (Cleveland, OH)
18)Belltown (Seattle, WA)
19)Federal Hill (Baltimore, MD)
20)French Quarter (Charleston, SC)

Honorable Mention: Church Street Station (Orlando, FL); River Walk (San Antonio TX); Adams Morgan (Washington, DC)
FYI the Meatpacking District in NYC is where a lot of the trendiest clubs are at.
Aslo I would add,

SOMA area in San Fancisco
Fells point, Baltimore
Dupont Circle and the U street and Cardozo area in DC
Coconut grove in Miami
Deep Ellum in Dallas
CityWalk in Orlando
Beale Street in Memphis
The Highlands in Louisville, Kentucky

It got old fast.
I think everyone goes to the warehouse district or something else now anyway.

Everyone still goes down on 6th street but they also go to the Warehouse District and there's also bars/clubs on Red River like Stubb's,Club Deville,Elysium,Emo's,Red Eyed Fly ect...

6th street is possibly my favorite nightlife location in Texas. I don't know if it's the best, because I haven't seen them all yet, but it's definitely up there.

LOL! All of downtown Orlando. Are you serious? Downtown St. Paul sees more activity than downtown Orlando.
