I just wanted to ask this question but what is the widest road/hwy/etc in your city? Here in Greenville, NC 6 divided lanes (3 in each direction) while at a intersection it's at 6 lanes in each direction (only at one intersection)!!! So do you think that your city is undeserved over the widening department!!!

Also in Maryland I believe our roads get up to 6 lanes in each direction on I-270, while in B-more 5 lanes in each direction!!!!

The Katy Freeway. I've heard it's the widest freeway in the country.

I believe it when you say that is the nations widest highway!!! LOL
Is Texas one of the nations most funded transportation departments because it's quite often when your on a highway and it widens up to 6 lanes in each direction when it seems as if it's not needed!!! In Maryland we have some of the nations busiest highways but we don't get the proper funding for widening, but VA seems as if it does!!!

I-70 through the Southeastern edge of my township reaches 18 lanes wide.

As for Non-Interstate-IN 267 between I-70 and Hadley Road. ( 3 Lanes Northbound and 2 Southbound with 30ft median)

that is only through my part(Guilford Township-Hendricks County) once it enters Decatur Township( Marion County) it will spike to 24 lanes and then taper back down to 6 lanes. There are so many lanes because of heavy commercial traffic and so traffic can access the new airport.
