New York City skyline has a mix of old and new, plus it has a lot of density. It's pretty hard to beat. A lot of Dubai's towers have been put on hold due to the recession, as well as being in high debt.

Dubai's two-dimensional skyline is not in the same league as the New Yorks, Hong Kongs and Chicagos of the world. Dubai's why not attitude generated a lot of hype, but the skyline isn't impressive overall.

Trust me, it's pretty impressive for it's uniqueness alone. It's not very dense or anything and the layout isn't typical, but it's very cool.
