The biggest mosque in the US in Dearborn.
In 2000 the US had 1,200 mosques and 1,800 in 2009 (+50% in 9 years).It's a big growth.
About you city ? How many mosques do you have ?
I guess the most of this growth is certainly come from Los Angeles, New York City, Houston, DFW and Detroit metro.
PS : I'm not muslim, I'm just curious

New York City is home to 800,000 Muslims (city proper - 10% of the city population), and over 100 Mosques. I'd wager that the Metro Area would probably have about 1.3MM Muslims and 200 Mosques (the latter is just a guess).

In and around Atlanta there are approximately 40 mosques, the largest and one of the oldest being Al-Farooq Masjid. It's an absolutely beautiful building right in the heart of the city and home to one of the better private schools in-town.

I don't live in a city, but I would think I'm closer to a mosque than a synagogue. Although looking it up maybe not.
